Flood Recedes Revealing Teel Jewelers!

Teel Jewelers has been through a rebrand, which can be a lot of work and be pretty stressful, but we are proud of the jewelry store we created! We are all passionate about our work and hope that everyone who comes to visit us can see and feel that passion!

Before the rebrand we were known as Plata y Oro Jewelers. The business was owned by Gerald Myers; last year he retired and sold the business to Mike Teel. The business transfer could not have been a better situation. Mike and Gerald worked together 30 years ago at Cache Gems, where Mike apprenticed under Gerald. Keeping the store locally owned is another proud point for us, the community in Kalamazoo is important to our staff and in turn we do what we can for the community that supports us. Once a month we donate to a local charity, event, or community based business in Kalamazoo.

We rebranded the store and moved the business down Mall Drive… slightly. Our new address is 157 S. Kalamazoo Mall Dr. Suite 190. The whole team worked hard to make the new space and brand stand out. We got together outside of business hours and hand made all of our wooden displays for the store. We worked together to solve merchandising and floor plan problems. And together we created a beautiful shopping atmosphere that we love and want to share with you! We have a coffee, tea, and hot chocolate bar in an area we call our living room. We have our $20-$150 price point jewelry at easy access for you to shop and try on. We have an area to sit and walk you through buying loose gemstones and create a custom design for your special someone. And of course we have our lovely designer jewelry lines and our locally made jewelry.

Here are some photos from some of the work everyone did during the change over:
